What it’s like

Craft tables and toys in a cosy room built for birthday parties rather than a big soft play romp.

This one's built around parties and drop-in sessions where kids craft and play with toys while the grown-ups get to sit down with a coffee. It's not soft play, there's no frame to climb or slide to queue for, it's a smaller, calmer setup where the appeal is the crafting table and a room that doesn't feel like it's been designed purely to survive a stampede.

Sessions run an hour and thirty minutes, which is about right before anyone's attention starts to wander. Birthday parties get the bigger slot, three hours all told, with a morning booking from 9 to 12 or an afternoon from 1 to 4, and the party itself sits inside that as a two hour block (10 to 12 or 2 to 4). Room hire is £190 and parties start from £50, so it's not the cheapest option going, though you are getting the whole room to yourselves rather than sharing with strangers. A themed one, the Toy Story Craft Party, comes in at £15.

There's indoor seating laid on for the adults, which matters more than it sounds when half the point is that parents get to actually talk to each other instead of chasing kids round a frame. If you want something low key rather than chaotic, that's the trade-off here, quieter but smaller in scope.

How much does it cost?

Parties start from £50, with room hire at £190. There's also a Toy Story Craft Party at £15.

How long is a session?

Drop-in sessions run for an hour and thirty minutes. Parties get a longer three hour booking, with the party itself running two hours inside that.

What do the kids actually do?

Craft activities and playing with toys, in a room set up more like a cosy den than a soft play centre.

Is it like a soft play centre?

No, it's pitched as the opposite, calmer and cosier, with somewhere for the adults to sit and have a coffee while the kids get on with crafting.
