Crouch End Picturehouse
WHERE
London
What it’s like
A local independent cinema in Crouch End with a proper café-bar, dog friendly and step-free throughout.
This is your neighbourhood screen rather than a multiplex, so don't expect the doors open at 9am. Monday to Friday it's open from 4pm, weekends from midday, which makes it more of an after-school or weekend treat than a rainy Tuesday morning filler.
There's a kiosk doing the usual popcorn and sweet treats, plus hot and cold drinks and a bar with beer and wine if you fancy something for yourself while the kids watch the trailers. The catch is you can't bring in your own food or any hot food and alcohol from outside, so budget for buying there rather than smuggling in snacks.
Wheelchair spaces are built into all the main screens and it's lift access throughout, which makes it an easy one if you're pushing a buggy or managing a wheelchair. Carers get a free ticket with a CEA Card, and if your family includes a guide or assistance dog they're genuinely welcome, with staff happy to arrange an aisle seat or even mind the dog during the film.
One thing to know before you set off: there's no on-site parking, and drop-off is really only for customers with limited mobility, so you'll want to plan how you're getting there if you're not walking or on the bus.
