What it’s like

Weekend pumpkin picking across the fields, with a maize maze to get lost in before you weigh your haul.

The £4 entry gets you into the fields for picking, but it's not a token towards your pumpkins, that's a separate charge by weight. Pumpkins come in at £1.20 a kilo and the small squash are £1.50, so it's worth deciding roughly how many you're carrying home before your two-year-old falls for every single one.

There's a maize maze to get lost in alongside the picking, which is the bit that'll stick in a four or five-year-old's memory more than the weighing scales will. Younger toddlers can still toddle about the rows and point at the big orange ones, though the paths are grassed and can get properly muddy.

It's open weekends right through October, from 10am, and there's parking on site, though the farm is clear that parking outside their car park gets you a ticket, not a parking ticket you want. Bring boots, bring cash sense for the weigh-in, and expect an hour or so wandering the fields before the novelty of carrying a 5kg pumpkin back to the car wears thin.

Best for
2 to 8, with the maize maze giving older ones something too
Wheelchairs
Limited access. Grassed paths may pose difficulties depending on current conditions
  • The £4 entry is just for access, pumpkins and squash are weighed and charged separately
  • Grassed, uneven paths make this a tricky one for wheelchairs or delicate buggies
  • Park only in the farm's own car park, or you risk a ticket
  • It only runs weekends through October, so there's no popping in on a Tuesday

Plan your visit

How much does it cost?

£4 to get into the fields, then pumpkins are £1.20 a kilo and small squash are £1.50 each. The entry fee doesn't come off your pumpkin total.

Do we need to book?

There's no booking link, so it looks like a turn-up-on-the-day affair during the weekend opening.

What age is it good for?

From about two upwards, they can wander the rows and pick their own. Older kids get more out of the maize maze.

Is it OK for a wheelchair or buggy?

Access is limited. The paths are grassed and can get tricky depending on how wet the ground is.

When's it open?

Weekends through October, from 10am. It's outdoor and seasonal, so it stops once the pumpkins run out.

Where do we park?

There's parking at the farm, but park outside their designated area and you'll likely get a ticket.
