Clinks Care Farm
WHERE
Beccles
What it’s like
A working farm near Beccles with an open day of proper daft games like welly wanging and splat the rat.
This is a working farm rather than a purpose-built attraction, and it shows in the best way. Most of the year the pull is the farm shop, stocked with local produce, plus a food box scheme running June through to December if you'd rather have veg turn up on your doorstep than go and get it.
The date to ring round for is the open day on Sunday 13 September, 11am to 3pm. That's when the games come out: welly wanging, human veg and fruit machine, splat the rat, and throw a pig, alongside a chance to learn about the animals and how they're actually looked after here. It's a few hours rather than a full day out, but the games alone should keep a group of kids busy and laughing.
There's no booking link listed, so it reads as a turn-up event on the day itself. The farm shop runs Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, and it's card only, so leave the cash at home. Disabled visitors can park in the farm yard close to the log cabin, which is a nice practical touch for a site that's otherwise fairly no-frills.
