What it’s like

A two-hour Saturday art class where everything's laid out for them, £30 a spot and booking ahead is the only way in.

A Saturday art class that runs 11am to 1pm and hands your child a project they work through with a bit of guidance and a printed set of instructions to follow at their own speed. All the materials are out and ready, so you turn up empty-handed and they get stuck in.

It's £30 for the session, which buys two hours of taught, materials-included making rather than a drop-in craft table. If you've got a child who likes being shown what to do and then left to it, the printed instructions are the bit that makes it work; if they'd rather freewheel, the guided side might feel like being told what to do. Either way, two hours is the ceiling, so don't expect to linger past 1pm.

The catch is the booking. Spots are limited and they're firm about it. Cancellations need 48 hours' notice or the booking is gone, and refunds only happen if you're moved to another class beforehand. One more thing worth knowing before you pay: whatever they make stays for the session, since there are no supplies to take home and finish.
