The Seasons Art Class Romford

What it’s like

An adults-only drawing and painting course in Romford, run over 14 weeks across four media, from pencil to acrylics.

This one's for grown-ups: a drawing and painting school for adults, no children admitted. If you've been meaning to get back into art since school, or you've never picked up a brush and want to start properly, the class is pitched at beginners and improvers together, and the site says the lessons are designed to be fun rather than exam-room serious.

You work through four media over the course: pencil drawing, oil pastels, watercolours, then acrylics. That's a decent spread of things to try before you decide which one you actually like, and 14 weeks is long enough to get somewhere with each rather than just having a go once.

The catch is places. Classes are nearly always oversubscribed, and numbers per session are deliberately limited so everyone gets individual supervision. You book by calling 0203 1614 208 or filling in the form on the site to check availability. If a term's full, it's full, so it's worth asking about the next one rather than the current one if you get a no.
