Rollerbowl
WHERE
Romford
What it’s like
Lanes, arcade machines and pool tables under one roof, with a diner serving food lane-side all day.
The lanes are the obvious draw, but it's worth knowing there's a proper arcade bank and pool tables too, so a bowling trip can easily turn into an hour of extras once the scores are settled. That's handy if you've got a mix of ages in tow and not everyone wants to bowl a full game.
Food comes from the East Coast Diner on site, and they do lane-side service, so you can order without leaving your group mid-frame. There are also corporate bowl and meal packages if you're planning something bigger than a birthday.
Opening hours are generous on weekdays, running from 11am through to half ten at night, Sunday to Thursday. The Friday and Saturday listing looks odd on paper, showing 10am to midday.
Parking is free on site, which takes one cost worry off the table before you even get through the door. Birthday parties are catered for, and with indoor seating throughout it's a solid wet weather option when the park down the road isn't appealing.
