What it’s like
A board game and pub games bar with big-screen sport, darts and D&D nights, open from late afternoon, with baby change on site.
This is a bar first and a games venue second, so the honest read is that it suits adults and older teens rather than a family afternoon with small children. The site lists baby change facilities and vegetarian options, and it doesn't set an age limit, but the format is pub games, darts, live music and sport on screens, and the doors don't open until 16:00 Monday to Wednesday. Treat it as an evening out, not a soft play trip.
What you actually do: there's a beer garden and an outside screen, pub games and a dartboard, and big-screen live sport, which is the obvious thing to build an evening around if there's a match on. Mondays are Dungeons and Dragons evenings and beginners are welcome, so you can turn up without knowing the rules. With a group, the small plates work out well, and the three-for-£17.50 deal runs every day.
On money, the deals are the sensible way in: two mains for £17.50 Monday to Thursday, all day, on selected dishes only. Three small plates are £17.50 too, five are £26. It's pub pricing rather than bargain pricing, but the weekday deal is genuinely good if you can go early in the week. Food runs from opening until 8pm, and 6pm on Sundays, which is worth knowing if you're planning to eat late.
Timing shapes the trip. Monday to Wednesday it's 16:00 to 23:00, Thursday from 14:00, Friday and Saturday from midday until midnight, and Sunday midday until 22:30. Weekend afternoons are the most flexible for a group, and the D&D night is the one to save if you've got a teenager who's into it. There's parking on site, and the place is dog friendly if yours comes along.
