What it’s like
Tickets from £6.99, £18 for a family in person, with baby-friendly Mondays and relaxed screenings on Tuesdays and Sundays.
Four screens showing family animations and the latest blockbusters, but what makes this one worth the trip is the sessions built around kids who can't sit still or stay quiet. Monday Parent and Baby screenings are strictly for carers with babies under 18 months: volume down, lights on mid-level, subtitles on screen and buggy spaces in the auditorium. Tuesdays and Sundays bring relaxed screenings for neurodiverse audiences and people with dementia, and there's a retro Saturday Morning Pictures slot that leans into the old-fashioned weekend ritual.
It's £6.99 a ticket for a standard release, adult or child, and £18 for a family of three or four. That family price is only sold in person at the counter, which is a faff if you'd rather book from the sofa. The maths changes fast if you go often: £30 a year for membership brings up to three guests, with £4 tickets, £14 for a family of four, 10% off drinks and snacks and 25% off events. Special events, re-releases and anniversary screenings cost more, and family tickets don't apply to those.
One catch for anyone parking nearby: the walkway from The Liberty shuts after 7pm Monday to Saturday and 5pm on Sundays. The Mercury Shopping Centre car park has 1,000 spaces over two levels, entered via Western Road, and it's free on Sundays. Romford station is under ten minutes on foot. All screens take wheelchairs, and step-free access comes via the Mercury lifts on Levels 1 and 2.
Runtimes on the listings include adverts and trailers, so take your seats at the advertised start time rather than assuming you've got slack. Anyone under 18 needs a paying parent or guardian with them. Private screen hire and a rentable studio space are available if a birthday party is on the cards.

Plan your visit
How much are tickets?
£6.99 for an adult, child or over-65 on a standard release. A family of three or four is £18, but only if you buy at the cinema in person.
Is the family ticket available online?
No, it's counter only at the moment. Members pay £14 for a family of four, also in person.
Is membership worth it?
£30 a year and you can bring up to three guests. Members pay £4 a ticket for standard releases, get 10% off drinks and snacks and 25% off events, so it pays for itself quickly if you're local.
What are the Parent and Baby screenings?
Mondays, strictly for parents and carers with babies under 18 months. Volume is turned down, lights stay on mid-level, subtitles are on and there's room to park prams and buggies in the auditorium. The first film is usually around 10am, the second around 12pm to 1pm.
When are the relaxed screenings?
Tuesdays and Sundays. Sundays tend to be morning and lunchtime, Tuesdays a morning and an afterschool slot, so check the daily listings for the exact film.
Can my child go in without me?
Everyone under 18 has to be with a paying parent or guardian.
Do you show subtitled films?
They aim for at least one open captioned screening of each new release every week, with the subtitles showing on screen.
Where do we park?
The Mercury Shopping Centre car park, 1,000 spaces over two levels, entered via Western Road. It's open 24 hours and free on Sundays.
Is it step-free?
All four screens take wheelchairs and there's an accessible toilet. Step-free access to the cinema is via the Mercury lifts on Level 1 or Level 2.
Can we get food there?
Drinks and snacks are sold on site, and members get 10% off. Nothing fancy, but it covers the standard cinema run.
Can we book the cinema for a party?
Private screen hire is available, plus a rentable studio and gallery space, so a birthday screening is doable.
Do we need to arrive early?
Listed runtimes include the adverts and trailers, so be in your seat for the advertised start time.
