What it’s like
A small Cardiff gallery and framing shop where you can browse original Welsh and international art up close.
This is a proper local gallery rather than a big exhibition space, so what you get is original Welsh and international art in a room small enough that you can actually look at each piece without a crowd in the way. It suits an adult who fancies twenty minutes of looking at something other than a phone screen, or a family wanting to point out to a curious child what a real painting looks like close up.
There's no booking system to wrestle with. You can walk in during opening hours, though they do say booking ahead is recommended if you want to be sure of a proper look round or a chat about framing work. Hours are fairly standard weekdays, 9.30 to 5, with just a short window on Saturday mornings and nothing on Sundays, so a lunchtime browse midweek is probably your easiest bet.
Parking is free on the premises, which is one less thing to think about if you're nipping in on the way somewhere else. It's not the kind of stop that eats up an afternoon, more a quick, quiet detour to look at some art and maybe get a picture framed while you're at it.
