What it’s like

Baby, toddler and kids' film screenings at a proper independent cinema, plus relaxed showings for anyone who needs the lights kept up and the volume down.

This isn't a multiplex bunging on a kids' film at 10am and calling it a family screening. Watch With Baby is built for carers with a newborn who don't fancy the stress of keeping a crying baby quiet, Toddler Time is pitched at the younger end, and Kids' Club gives older children their own slot. There are also relaxed screenings for neurodivergent audiences and people with dementia, with the sound and lighting adjusted so nobody's on edge if someone needs to move about or make noise.

An adult ticket is £9.50, which is a proper cinema price rather than a family cinema price. Membership brings it down to £5.50, and under-25s pay £5.99 Monday to Thursday, so if you're local and going regularly the membership math works out fast. There's a bar doing tea, cake and toasties alongside the usual popcorn kiosk, but you can't bring in hot food or alcohol from outside, so a takeaway on the way in is off the table.

Parking is the catch with anywhere this central. On-street parking is limited and time-restricted, so you're likely looking at a nearby car park rather than pulling up outside. Wheelchair users get spaces in Screens 1 and 2, but Screen 3 has steep steps and no wheelchair access at all. Assistance dogs are welcome, and staff will look after them for the performance if you'd rather not have a dog under your seat for two hours.

Age ratings are enforced properly here. Under-12s need an adult for 12A films, nobody under 15 gets into a 15, and under-8s must be accompanied at all times regardless of the rating.
