What it’s like

A proper old music hall in Shepherd's Bush doing gigs, comedy and cabaret, good for older kids who can handle a late-ish standing crowd.

This is a Victorian hall turned live venue, so the room itself is half the experience before anyone's even played a note. Ornate ceiling, small stage, the sort of place where a gig feels like an event rather than background noise. What's actually on ranges across live music, comedy and cabaret, so it's worth having a proper look at what's booked before you commit an evening to it.

It won't suit a toddler in a buggy. There's no readmission once you're in, which is fine if you've settled for the night but a pain if a younger kid needs a walk outside halfway through. Cards only at the bar too, so don't turn up with a pocket of cash expecting to sort a round out.

Food-wise it's two bars and bar snacks rather than a kitchen doing meals, and they're firm that you can't bring your own in. Getting there is easy without a car: Shepherd's Bush Market tube is five minutes' walk, and there's no car park of their own, just street parking with a Blue Badge bay right by the venue on Arminger Road. Level access runs from the street through to the hall and there's an accessible toilet, and if anyone needs a hand they'll sort a free assistant ticket if you email ahead.

Standing capacity is 450, seated 280, so a seated cabaret night feels a lot more contained than a packed standing gig. If the volume's an issue for sensitive ears, staff will hand out earplugs on request, which is a decent touch for anyone bringing an older child to their first proper gig.

Plan your visit

How do we book tickets?

Through the venue's What's On page or the Dice app. There's no just turning up on the night and hoping.

Can we bring our own food or drinks in?

No, it's two bars and bar snacks only. If you need something in for medical reasons they'll sort it if you email ahead.

What if we need to step out partway through?

You won't get back in once you've left, so plan for that if you've got a child who might need a break.

Is it accessible if we've got a pushchair or wheelchair?

Level access from the street right into the hall, plus an accessible toilet. There's no car park but a Blue Badge bay sits right on Arminger Road next door.

How do we get there without a car?

Shepherd's Bush Market tube is five minutes on foot, and a few buses stop within two minutes of the door.

Will it be too loud for younger ears?

Ask any staff member for earplugs on the night, they hand them out on request.
