What it’s like
Adults-only beginner Ballroom and Latin classes in Bristol, £8.50 a session, cash only, no need to book.
This one's for the grown-ups. It's an over-18s setup, so no bringing the kids along to this one, but if you've been meaning to learn a proper foxtrot or work out what on earth a cha cha basic is, this is beginner Ballroom and Latin, pay as you go.
You just turn up. There's no booking system to wrestle with, no deposit, no signing up for a term you might not finish. You pay £8.50 at the door for whatever class you attend and that's it, nothing owed for the weeks you skip. The classes run in blocks that roughly follow school terms, so twelve to fourteen weeks at a time, three times a year starting January, April or May, and September, which makes it easy to dip in near the start of a new block rather than walking into week nine feeling like the new kid.
The one genuine catch is payment. It's cash or cheque only, no cards, no contactless, so don't turn up expecting to tap your phone. Worth remembering on the day, because "I'll just pay by card" isn't going to work here.
Best treated as something to try for a few weeks before deciding if it's your thing. Beginner classes mean nobody's expected to know their steps already, and the pay-as-you-go setup takes the pressure off committing to anything before you know if you like it.
