What it’s like
A seaside theatre and gig venue with a café, bar and a Royal Hall for bigger shows.
This is a live venue rather than a single show, so what you get depends entirely on what's booked that week. The Royal Hall hosts the bigger touring shows and concerts, and there's a licensed bar open during shows if you fancy a drink before the lights go down. The site doesn't say what's on for younger audiences specifically, so it's worth treating this as a general theatre and gig venue rather than assuming there's a kids' programme running.
The café is open daily and does hot and cold food, which is handy if you're making an afternoon of it rather than just popping in for an evening show. One thing to flag: if there's a big event or gig on, the café can close early, so don't bank on a post-show cuppa on those nights. For selected Royal Hall shows there's a pre-bookable Show Scran menu too, which is a nice touch if you want dinner sorted before you sit down.
Gigs come with a proper security policy: you cannot bring your own food or drink in, bags get searched on the door, and anything confiscated stays confiscated. It's a fair enough rule for a venue this size, but it does mean leaving the picnic in the car.
There's no on-site parking, though three pay and display car parks sit within a ten minute walk, plus some on-street parking and disabled bays on the slipway north. Wheelchair users get dedicated spaces in both the Stalls and Circle, and carers go free with proof of disability. Dogs are welcome too, with a designated sitting area in Sessions and assistance dogs always fine as long as you flag it when booking.

Is this suitable for children?
The site does not specify age suitability or a children's programme, so it reads as a general theatre and gig venue rather than a dedicated family attraction.
