What it’s like

A wide golden beach for paddling, kite flying and ball games, with beach huts you can hire for the day.

Sand that goes on long enough for a proper kickabout, plus the sort of waves that make paddling fun rather than a paddle in a puddle. Bring a kite if you've got one, there's clearly room for it, and a frisbee or ball will do just as well if you haven't planned that far ahead.

The waves are the appeal and the catch in one. The site is upfront that the water needs supervision for paddling, so this isn't a beach where you sit back with a coffee while the kids wander in alone. Keep it as a proper paddle rather than a swim and you're fine.

Beach huts are available to hire, which is worth doing if you want a base for the day rather than hauling everything back to the car every time someone needs the toilet or a snack. There are toilets on site and food available too, so you're not stuck bringing a full packed lunch if you'd rather not. It's dog friendly as well, so the family dog gets a day out too, with space set aside for dog walking away from the main paddling area.

There's no set session or booking here, it's a beach.
