What it’s like

Woodland paintball with themed game zones, plus laser tag and Splatmaster for younger kids who aren't old enough for the real thing.

This is proper outdoor paintball, played across more than ten different game zones with names like The Crypt, Stage Coach and Bedlam Express, each one set up for a bit of strategy rather than just running about shooting. You need to be 10 or over to play, which rules out a lot of primary school birthdays straight away. If you've got an 8 or 9-year-old desperate to join in, Splatmaster is the workaround: same idea, spring-loaded markers, smaller paintballs, half the speed of the real guns.

Sessions come in three lengths: a morning, an afternoon, or the full day from 9:15 to 3:30. A typical player gets through 300 to 600 paintballs, and that's on top of whatever package you book, so budget for topping up on the day if your kid's trigger-happy. Laser tag runs separately outdoors for 2 hours, and there's an indoor hour option too, with a safety coordinator on hand for every session.

Weekdays need 12 to 20 players booked in before Bedlam will even open the doors, which makes this one for a proper group event rather than a spontaneous Tuesday. Bring old clothes and boots that can cope with mud, because the site's clear that this is a woodland environment and the ammunition washes out but still makes a mess getting there. Bookings are paid upfront and non-refundable, and rescheduling inside 48 hours isn't an option, so it's worth being sure of your date before you commit.

For parties, the birthday age floor is 10 for paintball and 8 for Splatmaster, and parents can join in the gameplay once the group turns 12. A picnic lunch can be arranged and you can book the whole site exclusively if you want the place to yourselves.

Parties
Birthday parties for ages 10+ and Splatmaster for ages 8+
  • A typical player gets through 300-600 paintballs, and extras cost more on the day if you haven't pre-bought a bigger package
  • Weekday sessions only run with 12-20 players booked, so this suits a group event more than a quick family visit
  • At least one adult has to stay on site with the group throughout
  • Arrive 20 minutes early for parties to get checked in

Plan your visit

What age do kids need to be?

10 and up for paintball, for insurance reasons. Splatmaster drops that to 8, and laser tag is also 8 plus, though under-16s need an adult with them.

How long is a session?

You pick morning, afternoon or the full day running 9:15am to 3:30pm. Laser tag outdoors is a separate 2-hour booking, with a 1-hour indoor option too.

Do we need to book in advance?

Yes, and it has to be paid up front. Weekdays need a minimum of 12 to 20 players before they'll open a session at all.

What if it rains?

The taggers cope with light rain, snow and wind, so light rain won't stop play. Heavy rain, thunder or lightning means games pause or the day gets rescheduled with notice.

Can we change the date if plans fall through?

You can reschedule if it's more than 48 hours before your slot, but there's a £25 admin fee. Cancelling loses your money entirely, so don't book on a maybe.

What should the kids wear?

Loose, sturdy clothing for a woodland setting, long sleeves and closed-toe shoes for parties. It will get muddy and the paint washes out but expect a state on the day.
