What it’s like
A free outdoor concrete park with a 6 foot halfpipe, a 3/4 pool and a minibowl for anyone who can already ride a board or bike.
This is a proper concrete setup, not a bolt-on skate patch in the corner of a playground. There's a 6 foot halfpipe with a flatbank, a 3/4 pool, two quarter pipes, and a separate minibowl and halfpipe section with a big set of stairs for anyone who wants to drop in on something with a bit more consequence. It rewards someone who already has some confidence on a board, blades or a BMX rather than a first-timer working out how to stand up.
It's free and outdoor, so there's no session to book and no one taking your money at a gate. That also means there's no lighting once it gets dark, so plan around daylight rather than turning up at 7pm in November expecting to see the pool edge. Safety gear isn't compulsory here, but on concrete this rough and steep, a helmet and pads are the sensible call rather than the optional extra.
There isn't a café or shop attached that we can point you to. Given the size of the stairs and the depth of that pool, this suits kids who are already comfortable on wheels and want somewhere with real features to push themselves on, rather than a toddler's first go on a scooter.
Plan your visit
Is it free to use?
Yes, there's no charge and no booking system, you just turn up.
Is it suitable for a beginner or a young child?
It's built for riders with some confidence already, given the 6 foot halfpipe, the 3/4 pool and the big stairs in the minibowl section. A total beginner might find the features a bit much to start on.
Do you need a helmet?
It's not required, but the site itself flags safety equipment as recommended, and on concrete this steep that's sound advice.
Can you skate there in the evening?
There's no night lighting, so once the sun goes down you're riding blind. Get there while it's still light.
