What it’s like

Free rhymetime and story sessions for babies and toddlers, plus a browse of the children's book shelves.

Rhymetime and Story and Rhyme sessions are the main draw here, both aimed at babies and toddlers up to three. It's the sort of session where nobody minds if your one-year-old wanders off mid-song or your toddler decides to clap at the wrong bit. Sitting in a circle singing nursery rhymes with a room full of other small people is half the point.

Beyond the sessions, there's the children's book collection to dig through, which is worth a slow browse rather than a five-minute dash if your toddler is the type who pulls every book off the shelf before choosing one. Everything's free, which makes it an easy one to fit in without weighing up whether it's worth the money.

There's also a Coffee & Chat session and a Job Club running at the venue, though those are aimed at the adults rather than the under-threes. Toilets are on site, which helps when you've got a toddler mid potty-training tagging along to rhymetime.

Given the age range on offer, this one really is built for the very young; it's not somewhere you'd bring a school-age child for the sessions themselves, though older siblings could always tag along for the book browsing.
