What it’s like
Off-road driving over mud pits, steep banks and slopes on a farm hillside, with under-18s needing a guardian to sign on.
This is proper off-road stuff, not a gentle putter round a field. You're bouncing over 90-degree banks, mud pits and slopes, building up your driving from beginner level with guides talking you through it. There's no minimum age to ride along as a passenger, but you do need to be over 1.5m tall and fit properly into the seats and harness to actually drive, so a small three-year-old is coming for the ride rather than taking the wheel.
Sessions start with a safety briefing and light refreshments, and they want you there about 20 minutes early for that. A half day runs to roughly 3 hours, a full day stretches to about 6, which is a decent chunk of a Saturday either way. If the young driver in your group is too green to join a group session, the owners can bump you to a private one instead, which is worth knowing before you commit to a group booking.
The one thing to flag properly: the terrain is rough underfoot and the site sits on a steep hill, so it's not one for bringing along grandparents, very young children, or anyone with mobility needs just to watch from the sidelines. Weather doesn't stop play here either. Rain gets called "muddy good fun" and if it snows they swap the tyres and carry on, so don't expect a rain check.
Birthday packages run as group bookings, half day or full day, with the option to add a party or lunch at a local farm restaurant nearby. Booking has to go in at least 72 hours ahead, and if you need to cancel or change it, that same 72-hour window applies before you lose the voucher, though name changes are free if someone else can go instead.

Plan your visit
How old does my child need to be to drive?
There's no minimum age as a passenger, but to actually drive you need to be over 1.5m tall and fit safely into the seats and harness. Under-18s need a legal guardian to sign the disclaimer, and the owners can insist on a private session for very novice young drivers.
How long does a session last?
A half day is around 3 hours, 10am to 1pm. A full day runs about 6 hours, 10am to 4pm.
Do we need to book in advance?
Yes, at least 72 hours before your session. Cancellations or changes also need that 72-hour notice or you forfeit the voucher, though free name changes are allowed.
Can grandparents come along to watch?
It's best not to. The ground is rough and the site sits on a steep hill, so it's not suited to the very young, elderly or anyone with mobility issues trying to follow the group around.
What happens if it rains or snows?
Sessions pretty much always go ahead. Rain gets treated as "muddy good fun" and if it snows they change the tyres and carry on driving.
