Whitley Bay Ice Rink does sessions from £1, with hire skates included, and it's set up properly for beginners, with ice frames for wobbly toddlers and lessons starting from age 2. If you've got a toddler who's desperate to try skating, this is where to go, the frames make all the difference for confidence. There's free parking and food on site, so you don't need to plan around it, and it's set up for birthday parties and group bookings too. It's a drive out to Whitley Bay from the centre, but not a long one, and worth it if skating's the plan for the day.
