Forest School & Outdoor Learning in Newcastle

If your kids are happiest with mud on their hands, there are two proper options a drive out from Newcastle. Stomping Grounds North East in Prudhoe runs woodland forest school sessions from £12.50, with campfire toasting and nature play for ages 2 to 16, and they'll also do an exclusive-use birthday party in the trees if you fancy something different for a celebration. Further out in Consett, Andy's outings bushcraft and foraging school takes children aged 8 and up into ancient woodland to learn plant knowledge and wild skills, a longer trip but a proper day of it. For younger children, Prudhoe is the easier choice, with sessions open from age 2 and a lower starting price. If your kids are a bit older and fancy something with more grit to it, the bushcraft and foraging courses in Consett are built for ages 8 and up and go deeper into practical skills. Both are entirely outdoors, so dress for the woods rather than the weather forecast.
