Music Lessons & Choirs in Manchester
If your child wants to learn an instrument rather than just bash about on one, Manchester has a decent spread of proper teaching. Maunders School of Popular Music is close to the centre and covers guitar, bass, drums, piano, singing and ukulele one-to-one from age 5, with prices starting at £22. Anthem Music School in Monton teaches from age 3 in small groups and puts pupils on stage at real gigs twice a year. The Singing Hive focuses purely on singing, one-to-one, with studio performance work built in. For a toddler or young child just starting out, Anthem's small groups are the easier way in, and cheaper too at £44. Maunders makes sense if you already know which instrument your child wants and would rather have someone's full attention on them from the first lesson. The Singing Hive is the one for a child set on singing specifically, though at £150 upwards it is worth it only if they mean to keep at it, and there is a monthly membership if lessons become a regular fixture.
