If your kids are into skating or BMX, St Margaret's Pastures Skatepark is the one to know. It's an outdoor concrete park close to the centre, with flat banks, ledges, grind rails and a full-length quarter, and it costs nothing to skate whenever you like. There isn't a huge choice in Leicester itself, but this one covers a lot of ground. It's outdoor only, so check the weather before you head down, and there's no separate area for younger beginners, so little ones will need close supervision alongside more confident riders. On the plus side there's parking, bike parking, toilets and public transport nearby, so it's easy enough to get to without a car and simple to make an afternoon of it.
