Immersive & Touring Exhibitions in Preston

There isn't a huge choice for this one around Preston, but the two options couldn't be more different. Showtown Blackpool is a gallery-hopping museum of the resort's entertainment history, out in Blackpool, with baby and toddler sessions built in and tickets from £4.50. Closer to home, Ribchester Roman Museum sits on the site of an actual Roman cavalry fort, with activities and metal detecting days for kids who want to get their hands dirty. If you've got a buggy and a toddler who needs the loo mid-visit, Showtown has the baby change and accessible toilet sorted, plus lockers and somewhere to sit down. It's the pricier trip and you'll want to book ahead. Ribchester suits kids who are past the sensory-session stage and into digging up history for real, and it works well paired with school visits. Blackpool is the longer drive out; Ribchester is the one to do on a whim.
