What it’s like

Weekly dance classes from babies through to teens, plus hireable birthday parties with a tutor-led routine and party space.

Saturday Superstars is the main draw here, weekly dance classes running right across the age range from babies to sixteen-year-olds, so you can bring a toddler one week and a moody teenager the next without changing venue. There's also a Creative Tap class for 4 to 8 year olds if your child fancies something noisier than ballet, and the site is upfront that trainers or actual tap shoes make more sense than anything slippy.

Birthday parties are the other big use of the space. Two hours gets you an hour of proper dance class, tutor-led with a warm up, a routine in whatever style you pick, games and a cool down, then an hour in a break-out space for cake and presents. It's £10 a head for up to 20 people, but there's a minimum spend of £100 (£150 if you've got 15 or more kids), and you can bring your own food since nothing's sold on site. No alcohol allowed at parties, which is worth knowing if you'd pencilled in a parents' prosecco.

If it's not a class or a party, there are performances too. No Dress Code runs on a pay-what-you-can basis, and Roadhouse #24 is £7, both decent options if you want to sit and watch rather than take part. The building itself is step-free with lifts to every floor and accessible toilets throughout, and one carer ticket is free with a performance ticket, which is a nice touch that not every venue bothers with.

Parking is the one faff. There's only a small number of on-street spaces.

Do we need to book?

There's no booking link listed, but if you're new to Saturday Superstars or unsure about Creative Tap you can email or call to arrange a free taster session first.

What age range do the classes cover?

Saturday Superstars runs classes for ages 0 to 16, and there's a separate Dance On class for over 55s if grandparents fancy joining in on a different day.

What does a birthday party include?

An hour of dance class with a warm up, chosen routine, games and cool down, then an hour in a party break-out space. You bring your own food and decorations, but no alcohol is allowed.

£10 per person for up to 20 people, with a minimum spend of £100 for up to 14 children or £150 for 15 or more.
