What it’s like
One-to-one lessons in piano, singing, violin or guitar, plus group music lessons, with a piano you can drop in and use by the hour.
This is a lesson-by-lesson sort of place rather than a big group session, so the day looks like turning up for your slot, working with a tutor for half an hour or an hour, then heading off again. Piano, singing, violin and guitar are all taught one to one, and there are group music lessons too if that suits better.
The drop-in piano option is the bit worth knowing about even if you're not signed up for regular lessons. Between 10am and 3pm you can pay to use one of the pianos for thirty minutes or an hour, which is a decent way to try things out before committing to a course of lessons. A 30-minute 1:1 lesson is £19.50 and an hour is £39, so it roughly doubles either way, and the drop-in piano works the same way at £10 for half an hour or £25 for the hour.
They're open Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 7pm, and Saturday mornings from 10 until 1, which gives you some flexibility if weekday evenings are already spoken for. Cancel with less than 48 hours notice and you'll still be charged for the lesson, which is fair enough but worth diarising properly. There's free onsite parking and the building is wheelchair accessible.
