Woodhouse Park Activity Centre
WHERE
Bristol
What it’s like
Archery, axe throwing, Clip and Climb, karts and a proper aerial trek packed into one activity centre near Bristol.
This is one for the kid who wants to do everything in a single visit rather than sit through a queue for one big ride. The activity list runs to archery, tomahawk throwing, crate stacking, abseiling, bouldering and an Aerial Trek, plus pedal go karts and Flintstone karts for when arms need a rest. There's a snow slope and a water slide too, so it's not all ropes and harnesses. Sessions run at 1 hour 30 minutes, which sounds tight given the list above, but it's clearly built for one or two activities at a time rather than a free-for-all.
The Aerial Trek has a 1.2m minimum height and there's a 115kg weight limit on harnessed activities. Given the site talks about muddy terrain and reduced activities in wet weather, this reads as a place that's better on a dry day, though there's clearly enough under cover (indoor seating, toilets) to not write off a damp one entirely.
Parents drop off at the car park by reception and wait there rather than walking children onto site themselves, which keeps the site quieter but means no wandering round with a pushchair while you wait. Birthday parties get their own package, archery and tomahawk throwing among the options, with food included. Everything needs booking in advance, and event bookings are non-refundable.

Plan your visit
Do we need to book in advance?
Yes, booking is required for everything. Some activities have to be booked through the bookings team rather than online.
How long does a session last?
1 hour 30 minutes per session.
Is it open to the public or just groups?
It's open to the general public, though bookings from youth organisations with similar values to the Scouts get priority.
What should the kids wear?
Comfortable clothing suitable for climbing, trousers or long shorts, no bare midriffs. Trainers are the call, no flip flops or open toed shoes.
Is there a height or weight limit?
The Aerial Trek needs a minimum height of 1.2m, and harnessed activities have a 115kg weight limit.
What happens in bad weather?
Activities are reduced in wet weather and the terrain gets muddy, so it's better suited to a dry day.
Can we cancel or change our booking?
You can change a booking through the confirmation email link or by contacting the bookings team, but event bookings are non-refundable.
Do you do birthday parties?
There are party packages with activities like archery, tomahawk throwing, the adventure course and crate stacking, with food included.
Where do parents drop off?
Everyone parks in the car park by reception and waits outside to be collected by a leader, rather than driving onto site.
Can we look round before booking?
They'll arrange a site visit and give you a tour if you contact them first.
How do we pay?
Booking online with a debit or credit card is the easiest way. Large bookings can pay by bank transfer, but you still need to start the online checkout first.
Is there food on site for parties?
Food is provided as part of the birthday party packages.
