What it’s like

Auto-belay walls to clamber up and a Leap of Faith challenge that'll test who's actually brave enough to jump.

The main event is the auto-belay climbing, purpose-built walls you clip onto and go, no one holding a rope for you. There's a Leap of Faith too, a challenge climb that costs £3 extra on top of the session and isn't guaranteed if the place is busy, which feels like a bit of a swizz when you've told the kids about it in the car.

Standard sessions are £16.50 and you'll need to book, with 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or shift it. The minimum age is 4, and there's no separate under-18 supervision needed for the Clip'n Climb side, though bouldering works differently: under 7s pay £8.50, everyone else £16, and all under-18s need a registered climber with them. Shoe hire is £4 if you haven't got proper climbing shoes, and they're strict on footwear, no heels, no sandals, no open toes.

There's a café on site doing barista coffee and light lunches, with vegan and gluten-free options, which is more than you get at most climbing centres. Parking's free round the back via Extract Coffee Roasters, but don't leave the car on the road out front. One thing to flag: there are no showers, so if anyone gets properly sweaty on the walls, that's a car journey home in climbing gear.

Birthday parties run an hour of climbing plus half an hour in a party space with food, starting at £265 for ten kids and £24 per extra child after that. They want two weeks notice for parties, which means no last-minute booking if your child's birthday sneaks up on you.
