What it’s like
A free-entry Enfield pub with a Tuesday quiz, Sunday piano singalong and a Halloween party for kids.
This is a pub first, and the children's bit is mostly seasonal. The one proper kids' event on the calendar is the Halloween party, with pumpkin carving, party games, a disco and sweets. Beyond that, your lot are in a pub, so the draw is the noise of a live room rather than a play frame.
The regular stuff is what makes it worth an evening. Quiz night runs every Tuesday at 8pm and costs £2 a head. Honky Tonk Dave plays piano every Sunday, 5pm to 7pm, which is a good slot if you've got kids who'll sit through a singalong before bedtime. There are pizza gigs Thursday to Saturday, 5pm to 9pm, and live music on selected Fridays. Entry is free, so the only cost is whatever you drink, and for a night out in Enfield that's a fair deal.
Open Monday to Saturday noon until 11pm, and Sunday noon until 10pm. Festive hours shift: Christmas Eve runs 11am until midnight, Christmas Day 11am to 2:30pm, Boxing Day and New Year's Day noon until 9pm, New Year's Eve noon until 1am. Dogs are welcome throughout and the place is wheelchair accessible. The marquee and public bar can be hired for birthdays, baby showers and wakes, early until late, if you're planning something bigger than a table.
One thing to know before you go: they don't serve food. No kitchen, so eat first or plan around it. It also means a family trip hinges on the seasonal event rather than a normal afternoon.
