What it’s like
A games café in Walthamstow where you book a table, pick from a big board game library, and play D&D or Warhammer until 7pm with the kids.
You book a table, then settle in and play. The shelves hold a board game library that keeps growing, plus card games, and the tables are big enough for proper tabletop setups with terrain for miniature wargames. If your kids are into Dungeons & Dragons or Call of Cthulhu, there's tabletop roleplay here too, along with Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! for anyone who turns up with a deck.
The 7pm rule is the thing that shapes your visit. Under-18s have to be with an adult, and they can't be in the venue at all after 7pm, so an evening session for adults and a daytime one with the kids are really two different trips. You also have to be 18 or over to book the table, which is worth knowing if your teenager is the one doing the organising. Closed Mondays, so plan around that.
Food is the weak spot. It's a simple vegan menu and bar snacks rather than a full meal, though you're allowed to bring your own if it isn't too messy, and Yard Sale Pizza deliveries are welcome. Soft drinks and a small drinks selection, so don't come expecting a big menu.
It's a five minute walk from Walthamstow Central, Walthamstow Queen's Road and St James Street stations, and the Selborne Walk bus stop is two minutes away, though the stop itself is closed at the moment. Wheelchair access isn't easy here yet, and the venue says it hopes to improve that. Booking ahead is what they ask for, and midweek evenings start at 5pm while Friday to Sunday opens at 11am.

Plan your visit
Do we need to book?
They ask you to book in advance to avoid disappointment, and the person booking the table has to be 18 or over.
How much is it?
Worth asking when you book, as the table fee isn't something the venue lists publicly.
Can the kids come?
Yes, as long as an adult is with them. Nobody under 18 is allowed in the venue after 7pm.
What age does it suit?
It depends on the game. Board games and Pokémon suit younger players, while the wargames and roleplay tables draw an older crowd.

Board games from the library, card games, D&D and Call of Cthulhu, Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar, plus Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh!
Can we bring our own food?
As long as it isn't too messy. There's a simple vegan menu and bar snacks too, and Yard Sale Pizza deliveries are allowed.
When are you open?
Tuesday to Thursday from 5pm to 10:30pm, and Friday to Sunday from 11am. Closed Mondays.
How do we get there?
Five minutes on foot from Walthamstow Central, Walthamstow Queen's Road and St James Street stations. The Selborne Walk bus stop is two minutes away, though it's currently closed.
