What it’s like
Pick your own pumpkin straight from the field, with prices from £1 for the normal ones.
This is a proper pick-your-own pumpkin patch rather than a big farm day out. You walk the field, choose your pumpkin, and there's a polytunnel with homegrown ones too if the field stock is looking thin. Normal pumpkins start at £1 and go up to £11 depending on size, and if you fancy one of the warty, white or yellow ones that's a pound on top of the standard price. Squashes are sold by weight at £2.25 a kilo. Entry itself is free, so you're only paying for what you carry home.
It only runs September and October, and the hours vary by date, so a Saturday early in the season might only be 11am to 2pm while a later one stretches to 10am to 3pm. Worth checking their social media in the run-up to half-term, since the site flags that stock can sell out once the school holiday crowds descend. There's no booking system mentioned.
Bring wellies. The field can get muddy and slippy underfoot, which is exactly what you'd expect from a working farm in autumn, and the pumpkin stalks have a habit of being spiky, so little hands grabbing at them might want gloves. Dogs aren't allowed on site, so this one's a solo trip for the family without the dog in tow.
There's no mention of food on site. It's a short, focused visit rather than a whole day out, the sort of thing that fits neatly into an autumn Saturday morning before the pumpkins run low.
