What it’s like
Free local library with wheelchair access, toilets and wifi to duck into on a Brighton day out.
This is a proper neighbourhood library rather than a big central one, and that's part of the appeal if you want somewhere quiet and free to break up a day out. There's no entry charge, so it's an easy stop if you're passing through Whitehawk and fancy somewhere calm for twenty minutes or a couple of hours.
The building is wheelchair accessible and has toilets on site, which matters more than it sounds when you're out with kids and need somewhere that isn't a café toilet with a queue. Wifi is available too, handy if you need to look something up or keep an older kid occupied on a tablet while you browse the shelves.
It won't be the big attraction of your day, but as a free, accessible spot to shelter from the weather or just slow things down between other plans, it does the job without any fuss.
