This is an outdoor activity site built around having a go, not watching. Archery, axe throwing, laser clay shooting and gel blasters are all on the list, alongside Crazi Bugz and fishing, so you can pick a couple and make an afternoon of it rather than trying to squeeze in everything at once.

The owl and bird of prey sanctuary is the obvious one to save for last. After the noise of a gel blaster session or the concentration axe throwing takes, standing quietly near the birds feels like the right way to end the visit.

It's all outdoors, so this is one to plan around the forecast rather than turn up to on a whim. Parking's free on site, which takes one cost worry off the table before you've even started, and birthday parties are catered for if you fancy building a celebration around the activities rather than the usual soft play do.
