What it’s like
Hit balls at giant outfield targets from a heated bay, then settle who's best over 18 holes of adventure golf.
The hitting bays are the main event. Forty-four of them, all weather, with clubs provided and balls that score themselves, so nobody has to keep count. A game is 20 balls each, which works out at about an hour for a group of six, and the giant outfield targets mean a nine-year-old can genuinely beat an adult. Under-fives can have a go in the bay with help, but the adventure golf and the arcade are the easier sell for the smallest ones.
Adults pay £10 a game and juniors £8, or £18 for three games if you're planning to stay. The £2 membership taster is the cheapest way in, and you'll need a membership before you can play, bought in the venue or at Guest Services. Buy one game get one free runs every day until 11am, which is the obvious slot if you're paying for four people. There's a 2-hour limit per bay at peak times and the queues can run into hours on a busy weekend, so early is the shout.
Two floors, semi-private spaces and party rooms, and they do birthday parties with catering. Food is a sports bar and restaurant with the menu delivered to your bay. Burger, fries and a beer for £13 Monday to Thursday isn't bad; school holidays there's an Eat, Drink, Play deal at £16 for juniors, £23 for adults and £20 for a teen on an adult-size meal, no booking needed, just ask at Guest Services. On Fridays and Saturdays under-18s aren't allowed in from 8pm, and from 10pm the place is 18+ with photo ID and Challenge 25, so a late one is adults only.
Parking is free and there are blue badge spaces. Bays are step-free, and there's an Accessibility Fast Track to cut the wait if queuing is a problem. Every guest needs photo ID, which is worth knowing before you load four kids into the car.
