What it’s like
Two cricket nets, arcades and a go karting track next door, but it's over-18s only after 6pm Thursday to Saturday.
You book a net, pick up a bat and have a go at bowling each other out. Sessions are 30 minutes per net, which sounds short until you're the one chasing the ball, and the two nets mean a group of you can split up and rotate. There are arcades alongside, and the multi-level go karting track runs with TeamSport in the same building, so a cricket slot can stretch into an afternoon if the older ones catch sight of it.
Prices are per person, and off-peak is where the value is: £8.50 for an adult or a teen, £6 for a child. Peak slots jump to £12 for adults and teens and £8.50 for a child, so a family of four at peak is a proper day out price rather than a quick knockabout. It's worth knowing the cheaper slots exist before you settle on a Saturday. How long you actually get depends on how many of you there are, so a small group won't get through as much net time as a big one.
The catch is the evening rule: from 6pm Thursday to Saturday it's an 18+ venue, so those aren't family nights. Book online for groups of 2 to 15; anything bigger goes through the events team. The kitchen does sharers, burgers and pizzas, and there's a kids menu, plus kids-eat-free deals in the holidays. Set food packages start at £40 per person, which is a party-budget number rather than a casual tea, so look at those only if you're booking the birthday.
Children's parties are hosted here with party rooms, and the kids meal deal packages come in from £40 per person. Parking is on site, and Watford Junction is a short bus ride away if you'd rather not drive.

Plan your visit
How much is it?
Off-peak it's £8.50 for an adult or teen and £6 for a child. Peak pushes that to £12 and £8.50, so midweek or off-peak slots are the ones to aim for. Prices are per person.
When are children allowed?
It's an 18+ venue from 6pm Thursday to Saturday, so no evening family visits then. Earlier in the week and daytime slots are fine for kids.
Do we need to book?
Book online for groups of 2 to 15 people. Bigger groups go through the events team form instead.
How long is a session?
30 minutes per net. How much you get out of it depends on your group size, since everyone shares the two nets.
What is there to eat?
A bar and kitchen doing sharers, burgers and pizzas, and there's a kids menu. Kids-eat-free holiday specials run through the year.
Can we book a birthday party?
They host children's parties and there are party rooms. The kids meal deal packages start at £40 per person.
What are the opening hours?
The Watford location page lists opening at 4pm. Worth noting that fits with the later sessions rather than a morning trip.
Is there parking?
Parking is on site. If you're coming by train, Watford Junction is a short bus ride away.
Do they show live sport?
They do. The What's On page mentions an iconic line-up of live sport screenings, so you can catch a match alongside the nets.
Is there anything else to do besides cricket?
There are arcades, and a multi-level go karting track run with TeamSport in the same building. That's the bit that tends to eat the extra time.
