What it’s like

A pint-sized play village with soft play and role-play houses for babies up to about seven, with a café serving proper coffee alongside.

The main pull here is the role-play village, little scenario buildings and play houses sized for early years, so it suits toddlers and young children far more than it'll hold a seven-year-old's attention for long. There's a soft play area for the climbing and tumbling, and a separate baby mat zone if you've got a crawler who needs to be kept away from bigger kids' feet. Socks on for everyone, adults included, shoes come off at the door.

Sessions run at 1 hour 30 minutes, which feels about right for the age range they're pitching at, and booking's required rather than a turn up and see. Opening hours vary through the week, Tuesday and Thursday finish at 2:45, so don't plan a leisurely lunch those days, and Sundays are closed entirely for private hire, which is a faff if that's your only free day. The café does specialty coffee and loose-leaf tea alongside toasties and cake, with gluten-free and plant-based milk options, but no outside food or drink comes in with you, cake at a birthday party being the one exception.

It's step-free throughout with an accessible toilet and a sloped walkway in, and there's a multi-storey car park right next door that's free on Sundays and for blue badge holders. No glitter, face paint or confetti anywhere on site, and no decorations taped or pinned to the walls, which matters if you're planning a party here. Birthday parties get exclusive hire, either a picnic lunchbox option with seating and food or a play-only version, both capped at 1.5 hours with early access 20 minutes before your slot to set up.

Ground floor with step-free access throughout, an accessible toilet on site, and a sloped walkway in for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
