What it’s like
A small community soft play and café for under-fives, with timed morning and afternoon sessions on weekdays.
This one's built around toddlers rather than trying to please everyone. There's soft play to climb about on, a stash of toys and books, and a home corner for the pretend-kitchen crowd, all in one room with the café attached. It suits babies from five months right up to about five years old, so if you've got an older sibling in tow they might find the ceiling a bit low on entertainment.
Sessions run in two-hour blocks on weekdays, at 9am, 11:30am and 2pm, and you book a table for £2.50 a head plus a 50p booking fee, or turn up and pay £3 if there's space going. That 50p booking fee is a bit of an odd add-on for something you're doing to help them plan numbers, but it's still cheap for a morning out. Booking's the sensible option if you want a specific slot, since walk-ins depend on what's left on the day.
Birthday parties get the run of the place, soft play, toys, café area and toilets included, for £175 on a Saturday or Sunday, with slots at 10am, 12:30pm and 3:30pm. That buys you exclusive use rather than sharing the room with other families, which for a first or second birthday with wobbly walkers everywhere is probably worth the price on its own.
There's food on site and toilets close by, both handy when you've got a toddler who needs feeding or a nappy change mid-session. Two hours is plenty for the age range this suits, long enough for a proper play and a snack without anyone flagging.
