What it’s like

A calm, Montessori-style playroom for babies and under-fives, with wooden puzzles, natural textures and a 90-minute session to yourself.

This one's built for the very small. No big frames or slides, just open-ended play with natural materials, tactile wooden puzzles and a reading corner stocked with inclusive books. It's the sort of session where you let a toddler potter about at their own pace rather than chasing them round a soft play maze, which is either exactly what you need or a bit too gentle depending on your child's mood that day.

Sessions run 90 minutes and every child ticket includes one adult free, though extra adults or older siblings need their own ticket. They'll let you bring an older child along but ask them to keep the play gentle given how many babies are usually in the room, so if you've got a boisterous six-year-old this might not be the outing for them. Booking ahead is the way to go, walk-ins only get a look-in if a slot isn't full.

Food is where it gets a bit fiddly. Nothing from outside is allowed on the premises at all, not even in the café, so whatever your little one eats has to come from their own superfood café, Blended, which does smoothie bowls, granola, juices and a hot food menu. The playroom itself is strictly no food or drink, so snacks and bottles wait until you're at a table. Buggies fold down and park in the café, and there's a breastfeeding chair and nursing pillows tucked into the sensory space if you want a bit more privacy than the café offers.

One to flag: if you need to reschedule, you have to do it more than 48 hours out, there's no changing your mind the night before. Sundays are shut for private hire, so it's a Monday to Saturday morning-into-early-afternoon plan, with the doors open 9.30 to 3.

Plan your visit

How long is a session and what does it include?

Sessions are 90 minutes, and every child ticket comes with one adult free of charge. Extra adults or additional children need their own ticket added on.

Do we need to book in advance?

Booking ahead is strongly preferred. Walk-ins are only possible if a session isn't already full, so it's a gamble.

What ages is it suitable for?

The playroom is designed for babies and children up to five. Older siblings can come along but they're asked to play gently around the little ones.

Can we bring our own snacks?

No outside food or drink is allowed anywhere on the premises, including the café, for allergy and hygiene reasons. Everything has to come from their own onsite café.

What food is available?

The onsite café, Blended, does smoothie bowls, granola bowls, fresh juices and smoothies, hot and cold coffee, and a hot food menu. Food and drink stay in the café area, none of it goes into the playroom itself.

Is there space for a buggy?

There's a buggy park in the café. They ask you to collapse it if you can so everyone fits.

Is there parking nearby?

It's on-street parking around the venue. Worth messaging them first for directions and any restrictions.

Can I breastfeed there?

Either in the café or in the play space itself, which has a designated breastfeeding chair and nursing pillows for more privacy.

What if I need to change my booking?

Rescheduling isn't possible within 48 hours of your session, so double check the date and time before you book.
