What it’s like

A community hall running baby sensory, toddler playgroups, dance, karate and roller skating classes across the week.

This is a village hall that fills its timetable with the sort of classes you end up doing on repeat once you find one your child likes. Baby Sensory and Rainbow Tots cover the early years, with ride-ons, puzzles and crafts for the toddler crowd, while Star Jumpers gym classes give preschoolers something more physical. Once they're a bit older there's ballet, tap and modern dance, karate, and roller skating for 5 to 12 year olds, plus Cook Stars cooking classes for 2 to 11s if you fancy a mess that isn't yours to clean up.

There's also a Youth Drama Club for the ones who'd rather perform than skate, and the seasonal stuff is worth knowing about too: Halloween discos and craft sessions, a Santa panto, Christmas card and biscuit making. None of this is a drop-in soft play afternoon, it's proper structured sessions, so you're committing to a timetable rather than turning up on a whim.

Parking is free, which is a small mercy these days, though the system is a bit of a faff: you have to enter your registration into a monitor inside the hall or the standard charge kicks in via Parking Eye. The hall is wheelchair accessible and has baby changing, and it's open long hours most days, from half eight in the morning on weekdays right up to 10pm, though it's shut on Bank Holidays so don't turn up expecting a Halloween disco on one of those.

Rooms are also available to hire for parties, though the booking process wants everything in writing rather than a quick phone call, and you can't just extend your finish time on the day if things are going well.
