Free outdoor adventure playground in Bristol with timed sessions for everyone from babies to teenagers.
This is an outdoor play space with sessions split by age, so you're not turning up hoping the big kids' climbing frames will suit a one-year-old. Mornings from Monday to Wednesday are Stay & Play, aimed at babies and toddlers, running 9:45am to 11:45am. After school, Monday to Thursday, it switches to Open Access from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, which is when the outdoor physical play really kicks in for the older ones.
Fridays bring a Girls Group from 3:30pm onwards, and on Tuesdays and Wednesdays there's Wavey Nights, a youth session for 11 to 16 year olds running 5:30pm to 7:30pm. That's a proper span of provision, and it means a teenager who thinks adventure playgrounds are for little kids has actually got somewhere to go too. It's free entry across the board, which for a place with this many sessions a week is the bit that'll surprise you.
There's on-site food and it's all outdoor play, so a dry day makes the whole thing more appealing than a wet one. Because the sessions are age and time specific, the trick is picking the right slot rather than just rolling up whenever suits you.
