The Musician Academy

Lisburn
What it’s like
One-to-one music lessons, band classes and recording studio time, with a free taster lesson before you commit.
Lessons here are one-to-one, so it's built around whatever instrument your child is actually into rather than a generic group syllabus. There's also a Play In A Band class if they'd rather learn alongside other kids and work towards playing together, which tends to suit anyone who's found solo practice a bit of a slog.
The bit most kids will talk about afterwards is the recording studio. Sessions there let them hear their own playing put together properly, and there's videography on offer too, so a live performance or a studio take can end up as something you actually keep rather than a memory that fades. Live performance opportunities are part of the offer as well, which gives lessons an actual point beyond the weekly slot.
You can book a free introductory lesson before signing up to anything, which is the sensible way to work out if the teaching style suits your child before money's involved. Parking is free on-street nearby, so getting there for a lesson after school isn't the faff it can be in town.
