What it’s like
Adults-only workshops in mosaics, candle making, felting, soap and lampshade making, priced from £24 a session.
This one's for the grown-ups. It's a strictly 16-plus set-up, so no bringing the kids along to this one, but if you fancy an evening or afternoon making something with your hands rather than scrolling through your phone, there's a decent spread of classes to pick from. Mosaics for Beginners is £49, candle making comes in at £35, felted decorations are the cheapest way in at £24, and there's soap making and lampshade making too.
Groups are kept small, capped at seven people per class, which makes sense for anything involving hot wax or a soldering iron near a mosaic. That small-group feel is also what makes it work well for a hen do or an office outing, since you can book a private session and set your own date rather than fitting round someone else's timetable. Sessions run from 10am to 9pm, seven days a week, which is generous, but there's a catch: this isn't a shop you can wander into. It's closed to the public whenever a class is running, so you do need to book ahead rather than turning up on spec.
Refreshments are included in the price, which is a nice touch given there's no café or food venue on site to fall back on. Parking is the other thing to plan for. There's nothing right outside.
For a first date that isn't dinner and a film, or a hen party that wants to make something rather than just drink prosecco, the soap making or lampshade making classes at £35-£36 feel like the ones to save for a proper occasion. The mosaics session at £49 is the priciest on the list.

They start at £24 for felted decorations, with candle making and lampshade making at £35, soap making at £36, and mosaics at £49.
Do we need to book in advance?
