This is a space you hire for the occasion rather than a place you just turn up to. Evening hire covers christening receptions, birthday parties and general celebrations, with room for live music or a DJ if you want the night to have a bit of noise to it. During the day the Front Room turns into a coffee shop, open Monday to Friday from 8am to 2pm, doing pastries alongside the usual coffee run.
Food is where it earns its keep. The in-house catering covers homemade pizza, Greek gyros, burritos and hot roast pork sandwiches, priced between £8.50 and £15 a head, so you can build a party menu without bringing in outside caterers. That range suggests it can flex between a low-key birthday tea and a proper evening do.
Evening hire starts at £800 plus VAT, with a minimum bar spend of £1200, which puts it more in the territory of a milestone celebration than a casual Saturday booking. If your guest list is under 40, the Front Room itself is available on Fridays and Sundays, which is the cheaper route in if you don't need the full evening setup.
It's step-free throughout with an accessible toilet, and street parking nearby means you're not fighting for a space before the party's even started. It's a five-minute walk from the Shalesmoor tram stop or the town centre, and about ten minutes off the M1 via Sheffield Parkway if you're driving in.
