What it’s like
A family rollercoaster is the headline ride here, backed by over 70 attractions, splash parks and Peppa Pig World.
The rollercoaster is the thing everyone comes for, a family-friendly chase that still gets a proper reaction out of kids who think they're too old for theme parks. But it's one ride among more than 70 included in admission, so the day doesn't live or die on one queue. There are adventure playgrounds to burn an hour on, an indoor play centre for when the weather turns, and water splash parks that mean a spare change of clothes in the car is not optional.
Peppa Pig World sits inside the park too, which makes sense of the under-12s age guidance on the coaster itself, since littler ones aren't left with nothing to do while older siblings ride the big stuff. There are also rare exotic birds, gardens and a lake, which is a nice change of pace if the queues are getting to everyone and you fancy a slower half hour.
Booking is required, though there's no link to do it through, so you'll want to sort that out ahead of time rather than turning up on spec. Parking is free on site, and if you're coming without a car the X7 bus stops at the Ower Vine Inn a five to ten minute walk away, with Southampton Central station about 8 miles off. Worth knowing that some rides close in November and December for winter maintenance, so a visit outside those months gets you the full 70-plus.
The site flags flash photography on the Dino Chase ride itself and says under-12-months can't ride it. Everything else, from the play centre to the gardens, should still work for a family with a mixed range of ages in tow.
