What it’s like
A suspended coaster with your feet dangling over Lost Kingdom, plus over 70 rides across themed worlds including Peppa Pig World.
The big one here is the suspended coaster, the sort where your legs hang free over Lost Kingdom below, and it's the ride most kids will be talking about on the drive home. Beyond that there's a proper spread of themed worlds to work through: Valgard, Tornado Springs, Critter Creek, Wild Lands, and Peppa Pig World for anyone travelling with a smaller one who isn't ready for the big stuff yet. Over 70 rides and attractions in total means you're not doing this place in an afternoon.
Under-fours are looked after with adventure playgrounds and an indoor play centre, and the water splash parks are worth saving for the warmer months if you can time it that way. There are animal attractions and rare exotic birds dotted through the grounds too, plus gardens, a lake and a historic watermill if you need a slower stretch between the rollercoasters. With ages starting at four, this leans toward families with a school-age child rather than babies, though the site lists baby change facilities so you're not completely without support for a little one in tow.
Booking is required in advance and every ticket has to be sorted online before you go, which is a bit of a faff if you're the spontaneous type, but it does mean no queuing at the gate. Parking is free on site, and there's an X7 bus that stops at Ower, a five to ten minute walk from the entrance, if you're coming without a car. Worth knowing that some rides close for winter maintenance in November and December, so a summer or early autumn visit gets you the full run of attractions.
