What it’s like

A live, physical version of the TV game show, tackling zones and puzzles for about 75 minutes before the Crystal Dome finale.

This one's for the older kids and teens who've grown up watching the reruns, not a toddler activity. The minimum age is 9, and every under-16 needs an adult with them, so it's a proper team outing rather than a drop-off. From what they list, you're moving through zones and tight spaces for roughly 75 minutes, ending in the Crystal Dome bit everyone actually remembers from the telly.

It's not cheap. Standard tickets are £47, VIP £52, though family tickets in the school holidays bring it down to £39.50 a head (£44.50 for VIP), which helps if there are a few of you going. There's no online booking link given here.

A few rules are worth knowing before you commit. No open-toed shoes or heels, which rules out sandals in summer. Pregnant guests aren't permitted at any point, and there are strobe and flashing lights in several spots, including the stairs and around the Dome itself. The building's historic, which means stairs and tight spaces throughout, and wheelchair access is limited as a result, though staff say they'll try to adapt where they can if you get in touch beforehand.

It's two minutes from Piccadilly Circus Underground, so getting there is the easy part. The physical demands and the stairs mean this suits a fit family group more than one with buggies or younger children in tow.
