What it’s like

Locked-off game boxes where your crew competes as a private team, no strangers, no shared screens.

This isn't an arcade floor where everyone's bumping into everyone else. You get your own enclosed box, up to six players, and you're playing against your own team, not the family next door. There's a Junior Bundle and Angry Birds for the five-plus crowd, and PAW Patrol if you've got a three-year-old who just wants to press buttons and feel included. Anything else on the menu is really aimed at eight and up, and Squid Game is a strict twelve-plus, so it's worth actually reading what you're booking rather than grabbing the first slot that comes up.

Under-twelves need an adult in the box with them the whole time, which is fair enough given some of the games get properly competitive. Worth knowing the screens flicker and project quite intensely, so if anyone in your group is photosensitive it's one to think about before you book. Flat shoes only, no flip flops or heels, which catches people out more than you'd think on a summer day trip.

Booking isn't compulsory but there's a link if you want one, and honestly for a group activity like this you probably want to lock in your time. Just know that once you're inside 48 hours of your slot, that's it, no moving it and no refund. Pricing starts from a headline "from" figure but climbs at weekends, school holidays and busy evenings, so the number you see first isn't always the number you pay.

There's no food for standard bookings, just a drinks service covering soft drinks, beer and wine, so eat before you come. Birthday parties get their own deal though, with pizza, fries and unlimited squash thrown in, plus you're allowed to bring a birthday cake in as the one exception to the no-outside-food rule, as long as you clear it with them first and keep the nuts out.

Need to know

Best for
3 to 12, though not every game suits every age in that range
Parties
Birthday party packages with game play, pizza, fries and unlimited squash in dedicated party area
  • Bring flat shoes, trainers are fine but no open toes or heels
  • Lockers are free for coats and bags but they can't promise one's free when you arrive
  • Prices jump at weekends and school holidays so the 'from' price rarely is the price
  • A birthday cake is the one outside food exception, but it has to be nut-free and cleared in advance

Plan your visit

Do we need to book in advance?

Not strictly, there's a booking link if you want to guarantee a slot. For a group thing like this you'll probably want to lock it in rather than risk turning up to nothing available.

What age is it actually suitable for?

PAW Patrol works for three-year-olds, Angry Birds or the Junior Bundle suits five-plus, and most other games are pitched at eight and up. Squid Game is a hard no under twelve.

Can I cancel or change our booking?

You can move a standard ticket up to 48 hours before your slot. Inside that window it's locked, no changes and no refund.

Is there food there?

Not for a standard visit, just drinks including soft drinks, beer and wine. Party bookings get pizza and fries included though.

How many can play together?

Each box takes up to six, and if your group is bigger they'll just book you into a couple of boxes so you split into teams. You won't be mixed in with strangers either way.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

Yes, most access requirements including wheelchairs can be accommodated, though some games suit certain needs better than others so it's worth flagging anything specific when you book.
