What it’s like
Indoor karting with a fast, technical track for ages 8 up, plus a Mini Racer session for kids as young as 4.
This is proper racing, not a gentle trundle round a track. The layout's built for sharp corners and open straights, so once your eight-year-old (or you) gets past the wobbly first few laps, it turns competitive fast. Race suits, helmets and gloves are all provided, and you'll want trainers, since open-toed shoes and heels aren't allowed on track.
Younger kids aren't left out. Mini Racers is a separate experience for ages 4 to 7, built for smaller drivers who aren't ready for the full cadet karts, and there are family sessions where an adult can race alongside their child. Outside of that, adults need to be 13 or over to drive, so it's worth knowing which session you're actually booking before you commit, because it can't be changed or moved to a different date once paid.
Spectating is free and you don't need to book for it, so grandparents or younger siblings can watch from the bar area while the racers are out. There's food and drink on site, including alcoholic options for the adults doing the watching, though you can't bring your own snacks in. It's a cashless venue, so leave the loose change at home and bring a card instead.
Parking's free, just off Pitt Street, and there's a bus stop a couple of minutes away if you're coming without a car. The venue's partially wheelchair accessible; the lower level and its spectator areas are fine, but the upper spectator level isn't. Booking ahead is essential, since track space is limited and full payment is taken when you book.
