What it’s like

Indoor go-karting on a 580m multi-level circuit, with a Mini Racers option for the under-eights who aren't tall enough yet.

The main event here is the circuit itself, over 580m of it, with hairpins and straights across multiple levels indoors, so rain outside makes no difference. Kids from 8 can race properly, but there's a height and leg-length rule too (1.2m tall, 25 inch inside leg), so it's worth measuring your eight-year-old before you get their hopes up. Under that, there's a Mini Racers experience pitched at 4 to 7 year olds instead, which at least means a family trip doesn't have to leave the younger one on the sidelines every time.

Anyone under 16 needs an adult with them, and you'll want to book ahead since spaces on each session are limited and full payment is taken at booking, non-refundable and non-transferable, which is a proper faff if plans change. They provide all the racing kit, though if hair length demands a balaclava you're buying a reusable one for £3.99 on the day. Shoes need to cover the whole foot, so no sandals or crocs.

Spectating is free and needs no booking, so grandparents or a non-racing parent can just turn up and watch from the bar area. Food and drink is on-site only, no outside snacks allowed, but there's a proper menu including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options, plus hot drinks, smoothies and milkshakes. It's a card-only venue, so leave the cash at home.

Parking is free on site, and note the entrance is on South Accommodation Road, not Sayner Lane, which trips people up. Wheelchair access covers the spectator area and bar but not the pit lane itself, worth knowing if that matters for your group. Birthday parties run here too, with 40 to 60 minutes of karting and podium or catering upgrades if you want to push the boat out.

Plan your visit

How old do kids need to be to race?

Eight, and they also need to be at least 1.2 metres tall with a 25 inch inside leg. Younger kids aged 4 to 7 can do the Mini Racers experience instead.

Do we need to book?

Booking is essential since sessions have limited space, and full payment is taken when you book. It can't be changed or refunded, so be sure of your slot before paying.

Can children race without an adult?

Once they're 8 they can race on their own, but anyone under 16 still needs an adult with them at the venue.

Is there parking?

Free parking on site, and the entrance is on South Accommodation Road rather than Sayner Lane.

Can we just come and watch?

Spectating is free with no booking needed, from the bar area overlooking the track.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

The spectator area and bar are accessible, with disabled parking on site, but the pit lane itself is not.

Can we bring our own food?

No outside food is allowed. The on-site kitchen and bar cover vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options, plus hot drinks and milkshakes.

Do you take cash?

It's a card-only venue, no cash accepted for races, food or drink.

Do you do birthday parties?

Packages include 40 to 60 minutes of karting, arriving 40 minutes early, with optional podium and catering upgrades.
