What it’s like
Indoor go-karting with electric karts hitting 45mph, plus a Mini Racers session for kids from age 4.
This is proper racing, not a gentle trundle round a track. The main circuit is multi-level and the electric karts get up to 45mph, so it suits kids who are tall enough and keen for real speed rather than a toddler ride-on. For the child kart you need an inside leg of at least 25 inches and a height of 1.2m, and the minimum age is 8. Younger racers aged 4 to 7 who are between 1.0m and 1.4m tall get their own Mini Racers experience instead, which is a sensible way to let smaller ones have a go without putting them on the big track.
Anyone new to karting gets guidance and training before they race, and there are family sessions where kids and accompanying adults race together, which sounds like a good excuse for the grown-ups to have a go too. Under-16s do need an adult of 18 or over with them though. You'll be given a race suit and helmet, but a balaclava is £3.99 if you haven't got your own, and trainers are the sensible footwear choice, no sandals or heels.
Booking has to be done in advance and drivers pre-registered before the day, and it's worth knowing the sessions are non-refundable and can't be transferred unless you've paid for Flexi-book, so double-check who's actually racing before you confirm. It's card only on site, no cash. There's a bar and food menu with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options, but you can't bring your own food in.
Parking is free on site, and if you'd rather watch than race, spectating is free too and you don't need to book for that.
